An instant drummer favorite. Biggest dissapointment with GH5 so far is definately bring the noise, that version is a big pile of donkey doodle. Anyway will switch to guitar soon.

I’m Christian, love the song. We all go through things. We all hurt….. the song is a testimony to that. Whatever your faith, rain falls on us all. If you could write a song that expressed your pain and frurstation with whatever power you believe abandoned you in your darkest hour, you would and if it sounded half as good, I’d hope someone else would listen to it……

Just because Maynard states the meaning of a song, it doesn’t necessarily make other meanings invalid.
How about everybody shuts up and enjoys this song for what it really is… a song. For entertainment.
Leave discussions about religion and song meaning for forums, or somewhere else where people actually care.
Everybody will have different interpretations of the song, WHICH IS WHAT MAYNARD INTENDS. He doesn’t state the meanings for most of his songs because this is exactly what happens, stupid people start a useless arguement over it.

The song’s a criticism towards those who praise God for everything good that happens in their lives but don’t blame God for the bad things that happen. His mother Judith, in particular, continued praying to God after she suffered a stroke and was wheelchair bound for the rest of her life; Maynard found it absurd that she still prayed.
